Advanced Irish Music Class
This class is designed for students with at least two years of experience in Irish music and their instrument. It focuses on advanced tunes, arrangements, and group playing, with an emphasis on collaboration and ornamentation. Students will also have the opportunity to learn a second instrument and lead group performances for the school.
Beginner Irish Music Band Class (ages 7+)
Jump into the exciting world of Irish music! This class is perfect for beginners interested in learning traditional Irish tunes. Students will explore rhythm, melody, and ensemble playing in a fun, supportive environment. Join us this semester and start your journey into the rich tradition of Irish music! ***Must already know how to play their instrument before joining***
Whistle & Bodhrán Class (ages 7+)
Learn to play two foundational instruments of Irish music—the tin whistle and the bodhrán! Students will start with the basics of both instruments, using a beginner-friendly “pizza box” bodhrán and tin whistles available for purchase through the school ($15). This class is a hands-on, fun way to bring traditional Irish tunes to life. This class is taught by AJ Korbel.
Online Tunes Class (All Ages)
This class is open to anyone looking to expand their tune repertoire and play popular session tunes. Classes are held online via Skype and scheduled on a non-regular basis (class dates are listed above). To sign up or get more information, please email Claire at MiddleTennesseeIrish@gmail.com.
